Inner Healing

What is Inner Healing?

Inner healing is a process through which painful or traumatic memories are taken “captive” and made “obedient to Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5). Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, who guides the believer “into all truth,” we are able to uncover wounds and lies that have held the person captive in shame, guilt, or fear.  Going back to a painful memory in the presence of the Risen Lord Jesus, and letting Him speak the Gospel into the heart, brings truth, healing, peace and forgiveness.

People, even Christian people, are affected by what is said and

done to them. Over the years, if hurtful words and actions are

not brought into the light of Christ they fester like emotional

cancers. Eventually, they surface in problems such as anxiety,

depression, irresponsible behaviors, addiction, compulsivity,

inability to be intimate, chronic anger, eating disorders, sexual

confusion, etc.

Inner healing goes to the root cause of the symptoms. The Holy

Spirit is able to pinpoint the source of the emotional affliction,

and speak truth to the part of the soul that is wounded or

bound. As healing occurs over time, people begin to notice that

they are being freed from what has held them captive, some for

many years.

By using the imagination to “see” the memory with Jesus present,

people are able to experience what happened to them as having

to submit to His authority as Lord over all of their life, including

the past. While inner healing does not change what happened

to a person, it does allow God to heal the damaging emotional

and spiritual effects of what was done.

Inner Healing is NOT…
  • Hypnosis

  • Guided Imagery

  • Sorcery

  • Psychotherapy

  • Finding the Inner Child

  • Past Life Regression

What Does the Process Look Like?

The process is simple. Each session begins with prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to lead in any direction He chooses. Next, through  dialogue between the client and counselor, we follow the Spirit as He guides us to a root source of the problem through the healing of memories. Then, after healing prayer and counsel based on what God has just revealed, you are directed to apply the principles and truths to how you live your life. The entire process can be as short as a few sessions or considerably longer depending on the severity of the problem.

What Does it Cost?

Our standard fee for a 1-1.5 hour session is $70.  For most clients, sessions are weekly. As of yet, our services are not covered by insurance. For those who genuinely cannot pay we will work with you to find a payment plan to fit your budget.

How Often Do We Meet?

For most clients, meeting weekly makes the most sense.  In emergency situations, they can be more than one per week. Occasionally, they can be scheduled bi-weekly. Also, depending on the nature and severity of the problem, sessions can continue for a few weeks, or for a number of months. The counselor and the client will come to an agreement as to when the Lord is finished with His healing work. Inner healing counseling is not continued beyond what is necessary. We see clients Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-6:00 pm. Occasional evening appointments can be arranged.
